RMS will be staging ‘The Hot Mikado’ in The Millbank Theatre
from March 09th to 18th 2017.
‘Hot Mikado’ sticks closely to the farcical plot of the original
Mikado by Gilbert & Sullivan.
Hot Mikado has a fantastic score full of jazz, swing and blues
arrangements, lots of big production and dance numbers for the
company and comedy in spades.
Set against an impressive faux-Japanese backdrop, it's a classic
forbidden love story involving Nanki-Poo who falls for Yum-Yum , who
hap-pens to be promised to the Lord High Execu-tioner Ko-Ko. Much of
the humour revolves around the characters trying to find loopholes
around the Mikado's rules about flirting, marriage and regular
executions in a way that lets everyone live happily ever after.
RMS staged ‘Hot Mikado’ in 2002 and it proved to be a great success
enjoyed by cast and audiences alike.

Panto Talks Afoot
for Christmas 2016
RMS and Rush Drama are currently in talks about the possibility of
collaborating to bring Christmas Panto back to Rush.
If all goes as planned, we hope to be casting in October for a
Pantomime to be staged this Christmas, with a cast drawn from both
groups. Rehearsals for the Panto would run concurrently with those
for the show with Panto company rehearsals taking place on Sundays.
The proposal is to stage the Panto for three weekends over Christmas
and the New Year.
