This is Rush Musical Society...

RMS receive key to their New Home... "The Station House"
The Success of the society was given a much needed encouragement, when it was the first musical society to be awarded a licence to operate a former Garda Station from the OPW as a permanent home from which to expand its activities. Along with achieving charitable status this is a stamp of approval from state departments which will allow RMS to expand its calendar year and range of activities in and for the community of Rush.
The current layout of the building does not give us use of all the space available so we plan to carry out internal alterations over the next few months. This is where we hope you can help.
In order to secure the future of the society and to carry out the redevelopment of the “Station House” RMS is seeking support from the community. You can support RMS through any of a number of options

• ‘Friends of RMS’
• ‘Buy a Brick’
• Support ongoing RMS fundraising activities
• Business &Corporate Sponsorship
• Charitable Donation

Future Development Plans
Having a new rehearsal space on the main street in the town allows for the society to expand activities throughout the year.

September sees the society begin the show season with a set of workshops in order to encourage old and new members alike to up skill in areas such as acting styles, stagecraft, audition techniques singing and dance to name a few. These are always well attended and are open to all in the community.

RMS Youth Theatre
To encourage the participation in musical theatre RMS plans to provide a performance platform for the wealth of young talent in Rush at an even earlier age. RMS Youth will be aimed at 13 plus age group and will present annual productions in Rush under the direction of an experienced production team. As well as the obvious benefits to the town of keeping our young people engaged this initiative will also ensure the society has a throughput of young trained aspiring performers participating in our annual productions into the future.
The first step towards will be a Christmas Pantomime to be staged in the Millbank Theatre This December in collaboration with Rush Drama Group. Casting for the pantomime will take place in September and will be open to youth from 13 years up to adult members.
